We will close out another great year at the Crookwell Heritage Railway with a Christmas party on the 15th December. Lunch will be at the Crookwell RSL (buy your own) and include a swindle. Members are encouraged to bring a small gift for the swindle and tickets will be $1 with a proceeds going to our Railway.
2018 didn’t start the way we wanted with the passing of our long time Secretary Ruth Stewart in January. Eventually we regained momentum with the completion of several projects and moving forward with others.
The platform passing loop is now ready for ballasting and tampering. Helped by the purchase of a gasoline powered jack hammer , electric drill and track spreaders. Thanks goes to the Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway for the loan of their tools.
The Goods loop returned to traffic after suffering damage from the rebuilding of the Goods shed platform.
The Rail Explorer rail bike has been a hit with the public at several train and hobby shows during the year. We are still working on regulatory compliance for the public to ride on the rail bike. Watch this space next year.
The Upper Lachlan Shire Council again waived the rates on the station. A big thank you for that!
Success in obtaining $4,500 grant for stage 1 restoration of our 60′ Sellers turntable. Starting with the replacement of the ring sleepers.
The Veolia Mulwaree Trust donated $1,000 to our group for new security items and weed control equipment.
Several member obtained their medicals and qualified to operate our trikes and trolleys. We welcome new members with their own trikes and trolleys to join.
Our Trackman purchased from the CRM has had its gearbox rebuilt and the vehicle started. The passenger carriage has also a brand new chassis fabricated and painted.

We are working on obtaining 2 FP Pay Buses, FP 10 & FP12 from the Goulburn Roundhouse Heritage Center.
Lastly, November was our biggest working bee yet with 22 members/volunteers attending.
